Description:
How to get there:
From Longnor take the B5053 heading south. Take the first turning left after approx 1 mile. Stay on this winding country lane for approx mile till you come to a little bridge over the Blake Brook. Fishing is downstream from this bridge.
Parking:
The best spot is in a small grass lay-by just next to the road bridge on the far side of the bridge coming from Longnor. If this is taken, take your car through the field gate on the left just before the bridge and pull over to the right where the ground is a bit drier.
Token box:
The box is mounted on a post just inside the field gate from the road, on the right hand side.
Access to the river:
The Blake Brook is just a few yards from the parking areas.
Fishing:
Fishing is on both banks from the road bridge downstream on Blake Brook, apart from the last section where it runs down to join the Manifold. This is left bank only. Fishing then continues on the near-side (or right hand) bank of the Manifold running upstream to the boundary with the next farm. A variety of fishing is available here, with small stream tactics making use of the available cover being the way to go on the Blake Brook, with the chance of a larger fish in the main River Manifold.
Rod Limit:
This beat is limited to two anglers at a time. Please go to another beat if two anglers are
already fishing on your arrival.
Restrictions:
Fly only, catch and release. Barbless hooks, size 10 maximum.
Trout season runs from 18th March to 7th October
Peak Passport seasons may be shorter than the national seasons, allowing the angler to fish when the rivers are showing their full potential while allowing time for maintenance and improvement work.
